The banks and courses of the Karun, Dez, Karkheh, Jarahi, and Zohreh rivers, which flow toward the Khuzestan plain, are home to Iranian peoples and the birthplace of a part of human civilization. In the course of agricultural expansion, small and large settlements turned into towns, and towns into city-states. This documentary is an account of a journey through one of these river basins (the Karun and Dez) and a closer look at its water structures from millennia past to the present.
